Decision-Making in Awakening

Research + Experimentation

Awakening is primarily:

a set of ideas
regarding social organization, particularly decentralized decision-making
research
to improve these ideas
an experimental organization
Awakening is increasingly organizing itself in a decentralized manner, moving towards total decentralization of decision-making as advocated by Awakening.

What Drives Total Decentralization

We are accustomed to eloquent speeches about power-sharing. What really matters are the mechanisms that truly promote this sharing. In Awakening, these mechanisms are as follows:

The Prevalence of Long-Term Common Good
Awakening defines a social organization that prioritizes the long-term common good through the use of collective intelligence. This type of organization is much stronger than current ones due to its intelligence, resistance to attacks and corruption, etc. As a result, even if Awakening were to become corrupt, as long as an organization implements Awakening's original objective, it would eventually be adopted and penalize those who corrupted Awakening.
Organizational Safeguarding
This technique allows for a split to be created fairly easily. Therefore, those who believe that Awakening no longer respects its original objective could continue while retaining the benefits with a low cost of splitting. Moreover, this discourages those in power (since decentralization is not yet fully effective) from abusing it.
The Theory
Awakening comes with a layered representation (the ideas are there but still need to be written), and understanding it shows how much simpler and more pleasant it is to move in the direction aimed by Awakening.

Current State of the Organization

Currently, as we are in the initial phase, the group of creators is in control.
