Improve your comfort

In a healthy society the happiness of some creates the happiness of others.
Conversely, an unhealthy society needs to develop a culture of negativity to function, such as:

the fear of ending up on the street to force the execution of thankless tasks at low cost,
the pleasure of dominating to validate the social hierarchy,
the feeling of maladjustment and fault to push for adaptation and submission rather than reform.

It is important that Awakening develops a healthy culture, and therefore that participants find a way to advance their happiness within it. That is why, rather than appealing to toxic habits of adaptation, it is a good approach to seek to modify Awakening to feel better within it.

It is not so much that Awakening is the magic pill but rather that we have become accustomed to enduring many dysfunctions. There are the new ones we see, but there are also the old ones we don't even see anymore. Like living in fear of ending up on the street, accepting drudgery at work, accepting not having a place and having to submit to a boss, accepting that people wanting to act for the common good are neither helped nor rewarded. The end of this toxic ecosystem will be a relief that will have repercussions in all areas, including intimate relationships. For example, the frequent relationship of domination in parent/child education stems largely from the dominant authoritarian culture.

Why Awakening can help you

The real problem lies in collective intelligence: If you had problems at home because a heater was venting fumes into the apartment, it would be quite easy to correct the situation. Our global problems are not technically much more complicated from a material point of view; the problem lies in collective intelligence. For example, drastically consuming less meat would help a lot, but this requires counting the price of future damage in meat consumption. Technical solutions exist for this, see for example this idea.

Healthy relief through effective action: Eco-anxiety does not stem from problems alone but from the combination of problems and the lack of solution perspectives. Anxiety is not a bad motivation; it is energy available to change things. Using this energy in a truly effective activity will relieve you greatly once you are deeply aware of reality. Conversely, escape solutions (like watching movies) are distractions that only increase anxiety because we trigger our powerlessness.

A ripple effect accelerating progress: At a time when governments were less authoritarian, the population had an influence on them through demonstrations or other social movements. This is explained by the balance of power.
It will be the same with Awakening but with significantly more efficiency as the balance of power will be in our favor. The classic phases will be respected: marginalization, stigmatization, repression, then normalization. This last phase will lead to major concessions from the authorities. The first 3 phases can be more or less long and painful; it all depends on our ability to grow faster than we annoy and to be a complete society. The "complete society" aspect is necessary so that parts (like internal communication or information dissemination) are not hindered by dominant powers.

How to progress

Your motivation corresponds to a deep goal requiring a good evolution of Awakening. It is therefore a precious motivation since it requires taking care of this society in depth. Ideally, you can specialize in a comprehensive vision in order to reflect globally on dangers, dangerous deviations, and possible progress.

This does not prevent you from achieving lower-level goals; it is also useful to avoid a lack of understanding of realities.

Reduce injustice in the broad sense

The notion of justice is very broad for Awakening; for example, economic justice is included. This corresponds to a deep need, close to the need to preserve our ecosystem because in both cases the central point is collective intelligence. See "Reduce your eco-anxiety" above.

Confront the dreadful

Can't take the injustice, the impunity of the upper class, their smugness and irresponsibility anymore ? Do you have desires for justice, or even swift justice or vengeance ? Then let me expose you to a condemnation far more terrible than what you have probably imagined, while being just!

These people are called asocial, but they are completely addicted to social recognition. And when the whole society turns away, it is much more violent than a punishment touching only the body. By creating a society that dispenses with authority (financial, political, etc.), it is the heart of their values that we throw into the dustbin of history, and for eternity. The immaterial slaps of eternity are far more terrible than physical punishments.

If you are not convinced, imagine that an intergalactic extraterrestrial congress of civilizations is held on earth and you learn that savage capitalism and autocracy are an undeniable outcome reigning in all modern civilizations. Wouldn't you have a horrible and constant feeling of being in hell ?

Note: the above does not deny the right to self-defense or immediate protection. It is only the exposition of a deeper form of justice.

Earn money and power

Personal gain is a good thing:

In current society, we are used to the injustice of gains and power, because it happens very often that they do not correspond to a common good provided. It is not gains and power that must be rejected but injustice. On the contrary, Awakening values personal motivations, see why in the theoretical part. There is a critical threshold beyond which the personal gain in improving anticorruption (and more generally the common good) is much higher than that in exploiting flaws. Many structural elements of Awakening serve to reach this threshold, such as:

How to earn money and power

Gains will be evaluated according to the long-term common good you bring to society. This desire for gain is precious because it gives you an understanding of the need for personal gain. If you manage to create a bridge between collective interest and personal interest, then you greatly improve the functioning of Awakening.

What money, what power

One should not count on functioning similar to current society. For example, money could be different (see this prospective) and power certainly will be (more in the form of notoriety similar to the scientific system). But in any case, a reward system will exist because it is normal to benefit from what one gives to the group. Currently, personal gains are excessive in nuisance power and trappings but limited in real effectiveness in increasing the happiness of beneficiaries. For example, the rich are confronted with many people seeking to take advantage of them. Awakening seeks to put in place a fairer system; this also involves a healthy environment that is truly beneficial for the rewarded persons.

Feel human warmth

We know the emotion of love well, but something even more important is the construction of love: that is, changing things to connect beings in a common destiny of mutual aid beneficial to all. This is more abstract than the emotion but corresponds to what love truly is. The emotion of love is a motivation normally aiming at the construction of love.

Living this construction together brings people closer and brings us closer to a society that becomes less toxic and healthier. This will allow us to live more fully but also to feel the bond of love between us and even between us and life.

We will also be able to build environments favoring human warmth, whether it be work in small autonomous groups (see liberated companies), or other forms (see an example in the prospective).

Increase clarity/reduce confusion

This benefit is often difficult to become aware of because confusion tends to generate confusion in the diagnosis. But managing to increase clarity is a great pleasure! You can do this by starting small and trying to improve a text that seems obscure to you. Improving clarity becomes easier and easier with practice and is a very often useful skill. With experience, one can treat vaster subjects; there is no limit.

It is an exercise that also allows improving self-esteem if needed. Because it is necessary to understand that one is normal and that if something is not clear to us, then it is not clear to a lot of people. This contradicts the deleterious dominant culture which places the person automatically in "original sin", fault, the feeling of powerlessness ("who am I to dare..."), including intellectual.

Concrete actions

Altruism wears out with use. Indeed, accomplishing an altruistic action means that one does not receive the normal benefit of what one has performed in favor of the common good. This is all to one's credit, but a society needs to be fair so as not to drift. This is especially true for global and structural actions, because they are sources of high stakes and end up determining the dynamic of the group spirit. If you feel like you are accomplishing an altruistic action, it is good to ask yourself how to change Awakening so that this type of action is rewarded at its fair value. You can read "Improve your comfort/Earn money and power" above for more details.

Decisive actions are marked with 🔑. According to the staff, these are the actions that will advance the project significantly because they improve motivation. Increasing energy also increases the danger of deviating from goals. That is why decisive actions are often also dangerous actions. This is a crucial point to keep in mind.

Actions increasing resilience are marked with 🛡️. They allow, for example, duplicating the organization to restart in case of major damage, regardless of origin. They are therefore very important for the long term, and thus for the success of Awakening.

Too spacey, too ambitious, too big ? Awakening is an ambitious project; you can take a look at the comprehension section to see what supports these ambitions.
There are hundreds of millions of us wanting society to move towards greater justice and less destruction. There is therefore enough will and energy available; it is enough for everyone to do a little bit. You will probably find an action idea in the following list.

Propagate Awakening 🔑

It is very effective: Because even if you are the source of two sign-ups and these new people also propagate Awakening, that is enough to reach a lot of people and ultimately reach capable and motivated people to accomplish deeper actions.
It is beneficial for you: In addition to contributing to the common good (and that's not nothing!), you can be rewarded. Indeed, Awakening seeks to be fair, so doing a beneficial action like this should not be ignored. A mechanism already exists for this.
This increases the solidity and power of Awakening: Because there is strength in unity.
This reinforces the expression of a will for change: Awakening can make mistakes and fail. But even in this case, the expression of the will for change as well as the ideas to achieve it expressed here will be valuable to start other constructive revolutions.
The danger: Becoming popular also poses challenges such as resistance to attacks, capacity for scaling, communication overload for the staff, decrease in the "activist" spirit, increase in stress for the staff.

Improve content

Why: In addition to missing parts (we are in Beta version), there are many passages that can be improved.
How: You can add your suggestions for improvement in the "improvements" bubblings. You can also take charge of a page with the aim of working the text in more depth. In this case, it is better to contact the staff beforehand to avoid duplicate work.
How Awakening memorizes it: Bubblings are not destroyed. There will soon be a system to memorize the adoption of a bubble in "improvements". For more in-depth work, the staff will declare your work and you can confirm it.

On social networks: By using affirmations. You can already prove that an account on a social network is yours and provide the web link if the social network keeps history for a long time.

Objective

Make sure Awakening is transformed into a set of data so that society can restart from this data.

Interest

Greatly increase resilience. Which has the side effect of decreasing the impact of attacks or the danger of errors. Which has the effect of decreasing the motivation to attack Awakening (whether it comes from outside or from inside).

Technical points

This task involves many research and development subtasks. For example:

How to back up data without disclosing users' emails (probably with an encryption system).
How to decide to transfer the treasury from one version of Awakening to another (see "A first decentralization of financial control" on this page).
How users decide which constructive revolution to go to ? Indeed, we could have a multitude of clones all seeking to attract users, which would waste energy.
How to provide data in a context of repression by authorities ?

It is not necessary to create a perfect system to start. One can, for example, initially rely on a group of people with recognized probity to perform certain tasks.

A first decentralization of financial control 🛡️

Control of finances is a major power stake. That is why it is important to quickly not leave total control to the staff. Many examples of drifts linked to this control are known. It is possible to go through independent trusted third parties with recognized probity. But going through a single trusted third party would be too risky (they could get robbed for example).

It is therefore necessary to create a multi-party control technique (see shared password technologies) for financial operations.For example, there could be 7 people but 4 suffice to carry out operations.

Thanks to this decentralization, it would be possible to use the funds for another constructive revolution in case Awakening becomes dysfunctional (this can come from internal or external factors). It would be up to the trusted third parties to make the decision to transfer to another group.

Add a currency 🔑

Objective: Societies need a currency. See the theory part which deals with this subject as well as rewards.
Interest: Allow accelerating the need for group decision-making and questioning what is fair.
A delicate task: As exposed in the theory part, rewarding poorly can be a "romance killer". It is therefore a delicate modification requiring a good theoretical but also economic vision. See an idea on a currency for Awakening.
On the other hand, capitalist culture values easy money to such an extent that many people no longer even question economic justice as well as the meaning of gains. This is why it may be wise to first carry out the task "A first decentralization of financial control" in order to start again on another base if the madness of easy money prevails.
An improvement dynamic driven by the structure of Awakening: Observing an injustice is an opportunity to correct it, improve Awakening, and be rewarded for it. By placing justice at the center, Awakening forces the correction of past errors, which avoids crystallizing injustices. This allows improving an imperfect system; people profiting from flaws know that the error will be repaired, which limits their wish to defend the flaws.
Why it is decisive: Starting to evaluate different actions is a strong motivation because it touches on recognition in the group and therefore the place one occupies there, which is instinctively very motivating.
What danger: The danger is to focus minds too much on gains which could, if too strong, divert energy from indispensable theory and attention to achieving a good design.

Software development

Awakening applications (accessible in the "members" part) are free software but not yet published. A general revision is missing for publication, after which people can propose additions. Awakening uses the Django framework (so is developed in Python).

Integrate Git and the Web app ?: In order to allow modifications to the public website by everyone, would it be relevant to go through Git ? With for example a JSON export/import system from the web app. This would allow everyone to propose changes while keeping a trace of modifications. This would avoid developing an equivalent to Git internally. Users wanting to make a proposal could work on a personal or public Awakening open to everyone to produce and export texts. It could even be the current Awakening because it is already planned that everyone can write their Web part, even if it is not yet tested and reviewed for security.
Add the "validated" function to bubbles: It would be activatable by the Staff and allow destroying/archiving the bubble and indicating that it is taken into account. The Bubble App is already planned to keep track of everyone's work, in order to be able to reward people for the work done. But the final accounting is missing.
Web app editor: If it is used by a lot of people, tags should be colorized because it would greatly improve readability.

System administration 🛡️

At the beginning, system administration will be classic. But it will subsequently have to be decentralized. This requires research and development. The idea is that there cannot be power seizure or degradation coming from system administration. One can base on the same principle as blockchain servers: one must tolerate that there are hostile people. It is also necessary that everything, except passwords, be public (due to the fact that Awakening must be duplicable).

For example, one can envisage isolated log servers to record administrators' actions or direct validation by other administrators when one performs actions.

Do social and technical prospective

There already exist innovation ideas in the "Prospective" part. They are almost all incomplete. You can improve them or propose others. To do this, you can write in the bubbles of the different pages or contact the staff.

Do research

This is necessary because the theoretical part is not finished or contains inaccuracies (contact the staff first because not everything is written yet). Furthermore, many questions arise. For example:

Group work: When working together in small teams, bonds are created that go beyond personal interests (in a significant not too toxic environment) and we tend to help each other. Is this the solution or are there ways to work anonymously in a group without falling into surveillance to avoid people participating very little while benefiting from rewards (salary etc.) ? See the liberated companies movement.
How to separate good surveillance and good denunciation from bad ?: One can watch one's child playing by the pool, report a rape. But one can also watch neighbors to find something to report because one dislikes their skin color. It is about representing this issue in order to be able to evaluate if a surveillance system, rules, or practice is good or bad with regard to the long-term common good and taking into account different aspects like happiness, feeling of freedom, security etc.
Favor precursors ?: It is about studying the interest of detecting and favoring (and how to do it) precursors. Because this would allow society to advance faster. One can even detect precursors by bubble votes: roughly people who vote for a bubble while many vote against and who end up being right.

Act concretely, not just "talk"

Operation

Every society needs material actions. Awakening has no bosses but will have a system to determine collectively what is good or not (simplified summary) and also to collectively take responsibility for certain acts. By acting before the implementation of these systems, you take individual responsibility for your acts. Judgments being made on the rule of the long-term common good, you just have to act according to this rule to be rewarded later (or penalized if you were wrong!).

Have your acts recognized

Awakening already has a system allowing to prove that one is at the origin of acts while being able to remain anonymous if needed. You can use it so that Awakening can judge your acts later (reward/penalty).

How to act for the long-term common good

Importance of the global: Your action will be more or less impactful depending on whether it is local or global. For example, if you plant fruit trees on the outskirts of cities, it is a local act, but if you do it in the name of a cause and you manage to convey a message with global media impact, it becomes a global act and therefore has much more importance for society.
Seek aesthetics: Awakening serves to increase collective intelligence. The more intelligent a being or society is, the rarer it is that it has to do unsightly things. Awakening will have a different culture, more positive and healthy than the current one. As a result, unsightly actions will probably be seen as negative. So if you want to act in the name of Awakening and you are carried by negative emotions, it is very likely a mistake!
Do not wake the beast: Current society is finicky about what can disturb it. It therefore seems important to grow without disturbing for the first 3 phases (see above "Improve your comfort/Reduce your eco-anxiety").
Take everything into account: In our society, we are used to rules to apply, which is a simplification of reality. Awakening will instead favor taking into account all the consequences of acts. For example, if you do an act with a negative direct impact but that inspires many people who will then act globally positively, then your action will probably be judged positively.

Funding

Funding is not yet open because for the moment costs are very reduced and priority is on user involvement and tool testing.

Organize a group involved in economic life 🔑

It is a distant but important goal. It allows, if the group is large enough, to validate the effectiveness of Awakening as a social organization system. It can be for example a network of artisans for an economic activity, a company, or even a union. It is an important and motivating step, necessary before territory management.

Awakening does not need confrontation; it is the attraction of its efficiency that creates a call and diverts minds from capitalism to this new organization and culture. No authority can resist a massive diversion of attention.
